Some of our customers wanted a slightly firmer feel than the Mediterranean provides, but didn’t want a mattress as solid and dense as the Baltic.

Our solution: extend the Mediterranean family to include a version we call the Mediterranean II. With up to 3,594 coils, this mattress has a more substantial firmness, yet is still buoyant, rebounding quickly when there’s body movement. This balance is attained by redesigning the innerspring components.

The main layer of springs has eight turns in each coil, as compared to five in the Mediterranean coil. Normally, eight turns would make a coil twice as tall. But ours are compressed down to be the same height as the five-turn coil. This gives the Mediterranean II a very sound yet reactive feel. You get firmer support than the Mediterranean, but experience a higher level of responsiveness than with the Baltic.

For a mattress that delivers a solid but elastic feel, the Mediterranean II is the best choice.
